Cynthia Bryant currently serves as a Chief Investigator with the City of Chicago Office of Inspector General for the Investigations Section. In this role, she oversees a team of investigators conducting investigations into allegations of misconduct both criminal and administrative. Previously, Cynthia served as an Investigator and a Loss Prevention Manager for 7-Eleven, Inc., and Sears, Roebuck and Company. Cynthia has 20+ years of experience in the investigative field, both in the private and public sector.

She is a Certified Inspector General Investigator, Certified Fraud Examiner, and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist. Cynthia earned her BA in Justice Studies from Northeastern Illinois University and her MA in Criminology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Cynthia is currently pursuing her MS in Counseling from the National Louis University.

Throughout her career, Cynthia has demonstrated expertise in managing and supporting the development of employees across various departments.

Art Golab spent 15 years as a data journalist at the Chicago Sun-Times. Since 2017 he has worked as a senior performance analyst at the Chicago Public Schools Office of Inspector General. There he became part of a new Performance Analysis Unit which has generated $3 million in recoveries from vendors and employees and at least $2 million in savings from recommended changes in processes. The Unit's reviews have also led to changes in the ways CPS recruits JROTC students, and the cancellation of a free two-year pre-k Montessori program paid for with district funds which only benefitted a single school in a wealthy neighborhood. He has an MS in Information Systems from DePaul University.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from India, along with a certification in Medical Coding and Billing. I am a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) through AAPC and have completed coursework for the Certified Professional Practice Manager (CPPM) certification, with plans to sit for the exam in Spring.



My career began as a full-time medical coder for physicians at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital that provides both inpatient and outpatient occupational services. I later expanded my expertise in both medical billing and coding while working with various individual provider types for a small billing company. This experience helped me advance to a billing analyst position at the DuPage County Health Department. Ultimately led me to my current positions as an Audit Supervisor for Bureau of Medicaid Integrity.

Janice Litvin is on a mission to help leaders and teams banish burnout in their organizations. She does this through keynote speeches, workshops, and coaching groups. What makes Janice unique is that in addition to 20 years as a technology recruiter, 10 years in Corporate IT, and her study of psychology, she has overcome all the challenges she talks about in her presentations.
As a professional wellness speaker and certified virtual presenter, she wants to help as many people as possible take care of their mental health, specifically teaching them to manage stress to prevent burnout.

In this way, she is helping people change their lives. She has developed a stress management methodology available as a workbook, Banish Burnout Toolkit.
For fun she leads Zumba Fitness classes for work-life balance.

Audit Manager Beatriz Martinez joined the OIG in August 2013 after working for CHA’s HCV Department as a Quality Control Financial Analyst and the Comptroller Division as an HCV Accounting Supervisor. Beatriz has over 30 years of accounting experience and over 18 years of experience as an auditor. Prior to CHA, Beatriz worked as an Internal Auditor for the Office of the Special Deputy Receiver and worked pro-bono at Latinos Progresando. Beatriz also provides income tax assistance to low-income residents. Beatriz earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Robert Morris University. Beatriz is a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Certified Inspector General Auditor, and a Certified Public Accountant.

Nick McFadden joined the OIG in 2019 and serves as a Senior Performance Analyst in the Audit and Program Review section. During his time with the office, he has worked on audits covering functions such as employee performance evaluations, economic development programs, and auto pounds. Before his work with the OIG, he was a middle school teacher and administrator. Nick earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Public Policy from University of Chicago.

Anne O'Brien is a Senior Performance Analyst with the Audit and Program Review section of the City of Chicago Office of Inspector General. Since joining the office in 2021, Anne has tackled topics ranging from fire prevention to FOIA, led trainings on the joy of internal controls, and promoted the use of the R programming language. She is also Vice Chair of the Digital Strategy Committee for the Association of Local Government Auditors. Anne holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in Classics from Yale University.
