During this 2-hour training, Florida's Chief Inspector General Melinda Miguel will present a summary of legislative changes from the 2021 Florida Legislative Session as well as a summary of the recommendations made by the 2019 Florida Cyber Security Taskforce.
Palm Beach County Inspector General John Carey, City of Tallahassee Inspector General Dennis Sutton, and City of Miami Beach Inspector General Joseph Centorino, all Florida city and county inspectors general, will discuss how their offices came to exist in Florida, how their offices have grown and changed since inception, and any current issues facing city/county OIGs.
Florida Department of Children and Families Regional Investigator/Accreditation Manager Flora Miller will provide a summary of Florida accreditation changes made during FY 2020-2021 as they pertain to the OIG, as well as observations made by accreditation assessors and team leaders during the most recent cycle.
Each module will conclude with questions and answers from the audience, if any.
