Last fiscal year, the federal government awarded over $1.1 trillion in grants. A significant amount of these funds is awarded to states and local governments. The Office of Management and Budget recently issued the most significant update to the Uniform Grant Guidance (2 CFR 200) since it was first adopted ten years ago. These updated regulations, which must be implemented by October 1, 2024, generally apply to all federal government grants and other financial assistance.
