This program is divided into two days covering techniques for use by inspector general investigators and auditors to conduct open-source research on individuals and businesses. The first day of the program identifies and demonstrates a wide array of free online resources available to aid internet researchers in solving both technical and non-technical problems. The first dayfocuses on the most popular search engines and social networks. The instructor will provide information on effective tools and techniques used to retrieve intelligence on individuals, events, and organizations. During the second day of class, the instructor will review and build upon the foundation laid down in day one. Sound workflow, working with platform trends, and best practices are explained, demonstrated live, and reinforced.
