The AIG NY/NJ Chapter presents: "Navigating the Digital Crime Scene." This 2-hour, live webinar is FREE for NY/NJ Chapter Members and 25 dollars for all other AIG members. At the conclusion of training, students will earn 2 CPE credits in the specialized knowledge field of study.


Students will be introduced to the industry standard methods for securing/preserving/documenting a crime scene, focusing on digital evidence. Students will gain information on how to document the collection of devices such as: desktop computers; laptops; USB drives, and other similar media; network attached storage arrays; identification of hidden or covert electronic devices; and mobile devices. Instructors will also provide students information on how to prepare for the execution of a search warrant where digital devices are sought.


Learning Objectives:


At the end of the training, participants will gain an understanding of Crime Scene Practices: Scene Security; Scene Search Methods; Identification of Evidence; Documentation of Evidence; Preparing for Seizure of Electronic Storage Devices; Recognition of Electronic Storage Devices; Preservation of Potential Electronic Evidence; Collection of Digital Storage Devices and other Evidence Items.

Prerequisites: Knowledge of employer's policy regarding search/seizure; knowledge of state/federal law applicable to AIG member's area(s) of operation.


Instruction will be made via Lectures, PowerPoint Presentations and Group Discussions/Question and Answer from the Audience.
